So that children have a positive start to their day we have a rolling start time at 8:55am and school finishes at 15:30, this equates to 5 hours and 35 minutes per day and 27 hours and 55 minutes per week. The teachers welcome the children in and listen to any news that they would like to share before the main teaching session start.

Start of the day the main school doors are open between 8:45-8:50am and the register is taken at 8:55am. If your child arrives after this time, they must sign in at the school office.

It is essential that children arrive to school on time every day, so that they are prepared and ready to learn.

Playtime is at 10:45 – 11:00am. Foundation, Year 1 and 2 are provided with free fruit as a snack.  The older children are allowed to bring in a piece of fruit, as a snack from home, if they choose or this can be ordered when they order their lunch in the morning.

Lunchtime is at 12:00 – 13:30, lunchtimes are an hour and are staggered according to Key Stage. This is supervised by our teaching assistants and our meal-time assistants. We believe that by using our TAs it means that the staff really get to know the children, as well as having a great understanding of our relationship approach to behaviour to support the children.

End of the day, the children are brought out by their class teachers at 15:30.

Wrap Around Care is available at the school from 7:30am – 17:30, please click here for more details.

Nursery Timings

The Nursery run morning and afternoon sessions these are 8:45am – 11:45am and then 12:30 – 15:30. There is a lunchtime club that is also available from 11:45am – 12:30pm, for the children who stay all day. The children are met by the nursery team at their entrance, at the beginning of the session. The staff are there to support the children transition into nursery and answer any questions that parents might have, or please click here for more information.

School Lunches

Our school lunches are prepared and cooked, fresh on site, by our amazing cook, Lana, and her assistant Julie. We buy into CATERed to ensure that the children have a balanced health meal. Lana is a very experienced cook and can support all dietary requirements. Please contact the school office if you have any questions for her.

Please click on the link below to access the CATERed menu.

CATERed Lunch Menu

In Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2, all children receive a free school meal daily and we encourage parents to take this opportunity.  You might also be entitled to Free School Meals if you are in receipt of certain benefits, please click the link below to find if this is applicable for your child.

Plymouth City Council - Free School Meals

It is important to us as a school for any parents who might be able to apply for free school meals to do so, even if you don't plan on having a school lunch as it brings extra funding to the school.

Class Organisation

We are a single-form entry school with a maximum of 30 children in each class. We have 7 classes, plus the nursery offering part-time places for up to 26 children per session.

Each class is taught by a fully qualified teacher, with a Teaching Assistant. Every fortnight, all our staff have a protected day to support planning and assessment.

Our pupils also have additional opportunities to be taught by specialist staff, especially in music (brass, ukulele and guitar) and PE.
